Compatibility

For detailed brand-by-brand compatibility (e.g. commonly used analogue and human insulin pens), refer to the current GlucoRx compatibility chart provided by the manufacturer.
Single Use Only
Each GlucoRx Safety Pen Needle is single use only and should not be reused. Reuse can:
- Increase the risk of infection.
- Blunt or damage the needle tip, causing more painful injections.
- Compromise dose accuracy and device performance.
After each injection, the needle should be removed from the pen and placed immediately into an appropriate sharps bin according to local clinical waste and sharps disposal guidelines.
Safety Shield & Mechanism
These safety pen needles have a front automatic safety shield cover that:
- Activates during or after injection so the needle tip is safely covered.
- Helps prevent accidental needle stick injury during handling and disposal.
- Reduces the risk of cross contamination between users or between procedures.
The mechanism is designed so that only the needle tip is exposed at the point of injection, then shielded again once the injection is completed.
Handling & Practical Use (High-Level)
- Attach the safety needle to the insulin pen following the pen and needle manufacturer’s instructions.
- Carry out priming / air shot procedures as recommended for the specific pen.
- Inject using the technique advised by a healthcare professional.
- After injection, allow the safety shield to cover the needle tip, then carefully remove the needle and dispose of it into a sharps bin.
Users should always follow local training and guidelines on insulin injection technique, safety pen needle usage and sharps disposal.
